Fancy Cats is a game I would absolutely suggest to fans of Neko Atsume. The game centers around collecting cats, but without the toy/food attracting aspect. Instead, you earn your cats through login bonuses and beating Bejeweled styled puzzles to unlock them, but wait there’s more! You can go the extra mile and even dress this set of cats up. Yes, you can put your beloved cats in cosplay that you can then easily take a picture of with the in-game camera. Who doesn’t want a game for dressing up cats? Because trust me, I’ve tried to put cute outfits on my real cat and he just chews them up. These cats don’t mind at all and there is a shop full of accessories to earn and buy.
How do you buy things in Fancy Cats you say? Well, you could spend your real world money to purchase Emeralds or you can earn them for free by beating puzzles. Puzzles are pretty simple as you get a set number of packages with items in them that you have to get to the bottom of the board. You do this by matching three identical pieces to each other to move the package downward. You have a limited number of tries that can be expanded by emeralds and a few special abilities you can use to help you out like swapping two pieces that are beside each other. You get a limited amount of puzzles each day, but it’s enough to play during breaks at work or school.
Also, you will need to feed your cats. No, not the real ones…the virtual ones. This game is part simulation as well so you need to keep your pets happy by feeding and playing with them from time to time. Don’t worry though if you have notifications on your cats will let you know when they need something! Just remember to keep some food stocked up. You can have several cats and if you run out of room you can even expand by buying the neighboring plot of land, they will even throw in a free cat with purchase.
Fancy Cats also features friend options so you can share your stream of cute cat pictures with them. Included with the stream is also a chat for you to talk on while the app is in use so you won’t have to switch back and forth to your messenger. Overall this game is a nice little break from reality for a bit. It’s cute, functional, and easy to play. The only problem you may find is the puzzle pieces are small so a stylus is preferable to use during the puzzles over your finger. If you don’t care or already have a stylus then feel free to download this app from the iOS store; it’s free to play and doesn’t use gimmicks to make you spend your paycheck.
