Ducky Fuzz: a strange animal of a game – Review

Ducky Fuzz is a strange game with a strange name. It’s a more simplistic game than most but has a charm to it as well. There isn’t too much to go over but today I’ll be giving all the details about Ducky Fuzz and all its feathery glory.

ducky fuzzDucky Fuzz simply starts with a play button and some blocky little ducks moving around your screen. Upon clicking play you will be shown a couple pictures explaining the rules and then notice tapping ducks will make them explode, rewarding you with points and if other ducks touch the blast radius they will also explode. Once you have cleared out enough ducks more will fall into your view and previous ducks left over will flash red. The rules are a little unclear but it seems to be that these red flashing ducks exploding on their own causes your game to end.

ducky fuzzWith such a simple set of rules and simple tapping gameplay, you might think Ducky Fuzz doesn’t last long. I found the opposite is true as it sucks you in with a measurable amount of improvement in your score the more you play, and the simplicity makes it great for when you just need to get through a few minutes without getting bored. Just as well, you earn coins while playing and can use these coins to unlock skins for the ducks that include various other animals to change up your visual experience.

As for drawbacks with the game, I did have a couple frustrating moments. There is no tutorial to explain the mechanics of the game so it is entirely up to you to figure out the rules and how things work. On a different note the game sometimes just throws you into an ad, breaking up your gameplay more without warning.

Overall Ducky Fuzz is a fun game and doesn’t seem to have any in-game purchases for any features on top of being free, so you have nothing to lose with trying it out. I’d recommend it for an easy to pick up and play game for between meetings or classes, or even just to kill some time here and there.

  2. Cool little game, altough it gets annoying when I’m trying to set a new high score but keep on failing. Good for killing spare time.
