Blendimals: Fly me to the moon – Review

“The cat and the fiddle,
The cow jumped over the moon.
The little dog laughed,
To see such sport,
And the dish ran away with the spoon.”

What a funny blend of animals in this song. Speaking of blend… Blendimals has a curious premise. Animals are gathered, looking at the moon.

What they see is no jumping cow, but rather a strange creature etched on the surface of the celestial body. Taking a closer look, that strange creature looks like all those gazing animals blended together.

And this is what you will be doing in Blendimals! At the beginning of the game, you will have access to a rhino, a mole and a rabbit. You will need to pick and choose which of them to blend together to face the challenges coming up ahead. Once you placed the animals in the scary looking blender, press the red button to have your strange creature appear, ready for action!

Blendimals started as a browser game in 2011. The game has since then redesigned for iOS by the studios of Exploding Cow.

The controls of the game are quite simple, you need to swipe, tap and hold to guide your newly made Blendimal through a very dangerous world of platform, puzzles and deadly spikes.

Each animal has their own characteristic and blended together, they have them combined. The rhino will be good to smash through tough looking boulders, while the mole will be great for digging your way out of a tight spot.

After you go through all the obstacles, your goal at the end of each level is the Rocket Chair. Once strapped into it, your Blendimal will be launched into the air toward their own goal, which was the moon.

As you progress through this quirky fun game, you will get to unlock more animal species to blend together – the gravity-defying, Floaty Blowfish, the destructive fart-bursting, Explodocow and the egg-laying Chicken. Each of them will bring a little something to the table to assist you in your quest.

The game is more than a simple platformer, it will require some thought and pondering sometimes, yet just enough to make it fun.
